Portable and wireless medical devices provide convent measurements that can be tracked over time.
When designing portable medical devices it is important to be able to accurately characterize battery run times. Portable devices are design to have very low sleep currents compared to the current used when the device is active or transmitting. The current used varies by two orders of magnitude but can be accurately measured by an N6781A Source Measure Unit. In this video a N6705B DC power analyzer with an N6781A SMU and 14585A software is used to characterize the current used.
