In this video, Chase Gibson demonstrates how Insight uses characterized device (CD) VNA calibration kits and verification kits to objectively qualify a VNA calibration and determine whether the calibration needs to be repeated.
Insight first guides users through a VNA calibration, using calibration kits that have been characterized to include measurement uncertainties. Insight then guides users through a validation process using verification standards which have also been characterized with uncertainty. Third, Insight compares the verification standard S-parameters, including uncertainty region, as measured at the factory, with the user-measured S-parameters with uncertainty. The level of uncertainty overlap determines whether a re-calibration is required, and helps increase confidence your measurements.
